Out of an abundance of caution, the State General Assembly set to take place this weekend has been postponed until September 18-19, 2020
A Statement from our Presiding Elder, Dr. Michael Smith Good Day Saints,
The last 24 hours have been very informative about the coronavirus pandemic. In light of the recent information from our national, state, medical and religious leaders I am recommending that we close our worship services tomorrow for the health of many, especially our seniors and the vulnerable. There are too many unknowns about this virus so the best way to contain it is limiting social interaction. We are not panicking but being prepared.
It is my hope that you can utilize technology for your worship services and giving until you gather for a time of fellowship in your church. Our faith is manifested in showing the same love and concern for our neighbor as we have for ourselves. Our State General Assembly of the Church of God meeting scheduled next weekend in Macon is postponed until September 18-19, 2020. We will forego the scheduled Ministers’ meeting this year. Next week I will send further information concerning how we can support our state.
May God bless you and your ministry as we trust Him to control our environment.
Dr. Michael Allan Smith Presiding Elder, Church of God Fellowship
