Our Speakers
Rev. Rick Kohl is the Pastor at Bainbridge First Church of God where he has served for seven years. Rick also works with Church of God Ministries as an Advancement Director.
He and his wife, Christy, have served together in ministry in Ohio and Georgia over the last ten years. They have two children, Ricky and Dakota. Rick and Christy have served in foster care ministry in their home for the past six years and he currently serves as the vice-chair of the Decatur County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association. Rick is a graduate of Warner University and Anderson University School of Theology. He has served on the Georgia Fellowship Board of Elders for the past five years filling several positions including the website coordinator, and vice-chair. |
Gabriela Castillo was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador and grew up in Austell, GA. She is married to Luis Castillo, and they have 4 beautiful children.
Gabriela was member of Legacy Church Spanish ministry for the past 17 years and helped in different areas of the ministry, she was also the Youth pastor/coordinator for Spanish ministry. She is currently studying for Marriage and Family Associate and mentoring at Christian Family and Marriage Institute. As of last year, she felt the calling of leaving Spanish Ministry to fully support Legacy Church GA and is now part of the Worship team. Gabriela loves to serve God, to sing and worship God’s name. She loves to spend time with her family, cooking and reading. Gabriela and her husband love teaching their children the privilege it is to serve God and to work together as a family to expand the kingdom of God. |
Rev. Michael Allan Smith, a native of Atlanta, GA, answered the call to ministry in 1977. He graduated from Morehouse College with a B.A. in Business Administration and a minor in music, and the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) with a M.Div. degree in Pastoral Care and Christian Education. In 1995 the Southern California School of Ministry conferred upon him the Doctor of Divinity degree.
Pastor Michael’s pastoral experience includes three congregations: Cove Road Church of God in Lafayette, GA (1980-1985), Cedar Avenue Church of God in Sharon, PA (1985-1998), and Community Church of God in Atlanta, GA (1998-2020). While in Sharon, PA, Pastor Michael served as president of the Mercer County Branch NAACP, president of the Sharon Clergy Association, board member of Sanctuary, Inc., and chair of the credentials and nominating committee of the Church of God in Western Pennsylvania, Emlenton, PA. Nationally, Pastor Michael has served the church as the Associate Dean, Associate Director, and Director of the In Service Training Institute, member of the Task Force Committee and Program Committee of the National Association of the Church of God (West Middlesex, PA), and member of the Program Committee for the International Church of God Convention in Anderson, IN. Pastor Michael is presently serving as State Pastor and has been key in the revitalization of the Georgia Fellowship of the Church of God. Through his leadership growth is being experienced in leadership development and training in the Georgia Fellowship of the Church of God. Pastor Michael is married to Rev. Felecia Pearson Smith, and they are the parents of two adult children, Allan Rudolph and Allyson Felecia Smith and one grandson, Allan Vincent. |
