Brief Bio—Rev. Dr. Dorothy O. Williams
Rev. Dr. Dorothy O. Williams is the current pastor of New Generation First Church of God in Augusta, GA. Previously, she served as pastor of the Straight Gate Church of God in Midville, GA and as interim pastor of the North 17th Street Church of God in Harrisburg, PA. Prior to pastoring, she served as a short-term missionary in Japan, assisting the career missionaries and teaching at the Church of God School in Tokyo, Japan. Also, she was a member of the National Association of the Church of God Leadership Development Board, and an instructor in their In-Service Training Institute at Anderson University, Anderson, IN. Dr. Williams earned her B.S. degree from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky; her MSW from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio; and her PhD in Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She was a professor of Social Work at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, PA, and later served as chair of the social work department at Benedict College in Columbia, SC until she retired in 2012. While at Benedict College, she attended Clement Road Church of God and served on the ministerial team.
Upon retirement, she became an independent contractor counseling military personnel and their families through their Military Family Life Counseling Program. She worked on several installations including Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Hunter Airfield in Savannah, and Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA. Dr. Williams is a licensed clinical social worker in both Georgia and South Carolina. Dr. Williams is grateful to be a member of God’s family and thankful for all the blessings and opportunities for service He has bestowed upon her.
MINISTRY BIO FOR REV. DR. RAMONA BETHANY In over 40 years of Ministry experience, God has used Ramona Bethany to equip the Church for effective ministry. She served for several years on the Pastoral Staff of First Church of God, Toledo OH, under the leadership of Bishop Robert Culp. She has also served the Body of Christ as the Administrator for the National Association of the Church of God in West Middlesex, PA. An experienced preacher and workshop leader, Ramona has traveled across the country equipping the saints for ministry. She was instrumental in the establishment of the Toledo Campus of Vision Christian Bible College and served as Dean of Academic Affairs. She has taught at the National Association of the Church of God In service Training Institute at Anderson University and has served as Adjunct Faculty for Heidelberg College and the University of Toledo. Ramona currently serves as the Executive Pastor at Community Church of God, Macon GA under the leadership of Senior Pastor Jason McClendon. In addition to being a licensed and ordained minister, she is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and has worked as a licensed Registered Nurse.
She holds several degrees from the University of Toledo including a nursing degree, Bachelors in Education-majoring in Public Affairs and Community Services, and a Masters in Education, majoring in Community Counseling. She also completed the PhD Program of Study in Health and Human Services and has completed special training in Marriage and Family Therapy in Rome, Italy. She recently earned a Doctorate of Biblical Exposition from Andersonville Theological Seminary. Ramona’s motto for ministry is “Only What You Do For Christ Will Last” and her ultimate goal in life is to know Christ and make Him known. She loves to read and is looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren.
Biographical Sketch of Reverend Delpherd (Del) L. Barksdale Senior Pastor of The Savannah Church of God, Inc. Delpherd L. Barksdale was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Mr. Dial (deceased) and Mrs. Kathryn Barksdale. He was reared in Laurens, SC where he graduated from Laurens District 55 High School. After completing high school, he furthered his education at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC on a football scholarship. In 1987, he graduated with a B.S. Degree in Sociology and a minor in Business. After graduation, Delpherd entered the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Military Police Corp. Del accepted Christ in his life on December 27, 1987 in Tongduchon, Korea. He humbly answered the call of ministry in 1989. In 1991, under the leadership of Dr. Rudolph Smith, he entered ministry at Community Church of God in Atlanta, Ga. After a year of assessment, he received his ministry license. The next four years he dedicated to advancing his studies and he was ordained in 1996. Del graduated with Master of Divinity in 2002 from Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. He pastored Evening Light Church of God in Laurens, SC from 1994 – 2004 while working in sales and customer service for McMaster-Carr Supply Company. In 2016, he received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Anderson University School of Theology in Anderson, Indiana. He has been serving as Senior Pastor of The Savannah Church of God, Inc. since 2004. He has been married to the former Jewel Gilmer of Boston, Mass for over 20 years. They have 3 beautiful children: Jada, Desmond, and Darian.
Bio Dr. Nelson Mainor Dr. Nelson J. Mainor, Jr., PharmD, is a Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner and Anticoagulation Program Manager and Supervisor at the Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia. He upholds the values of dedication, integrity, and compassion as cornerstones of his professional standards. In his 29 years of service, Dr. Mainor has earned recognition and numerous accolades for his unwavering obligation to patient care and his exceptional service to veterans. His clinical acumen and leadership skills have merited his position as a distinguished practitioner within the field of pharmacy. Dr. Mainor loves his family and holds them in the highest regard. He is married to his devoted wife, Debra, of 28 years. Together, they have raised three august young adult children: Nyia, Taylor, and Avery. Dr. Mainor is an active member of the Wabash Church of God, where he serves in both musical and ministerial capacities. Through his involvement in the church, he exemplifies his commitment to spiritual growth and community service. Leisurely, Dr. Mainor enjoys maintaining his physical fitness, listening to music, reading, sports, and family expeditions.
